LP osiągnęły w 2008 r. zysk netto w wysokości ponad 222 mln zł.
Z tego prawie 4 mln zł zostały przeznaczone na cele społecznie użyteczne.
Decyzją nr 59 z 30 czerwca 2009 r. dyrektor generalny LP zatwierdził podział zysku netto w jednostkach organizacyjnych Lasów Państwowych za 2008 rok. Zysk ten wyniósł 222 028 301,69 zł netto.
Preznaczono go na:
zwiększenie kapitału zasobów Lasów Państwowych ? w kwocie 197 467 198,72 zł;
zwiększenie funduszu leśnego ? w kwocie 20 596 300,00 zł;
cele społecznie użyteczne ? w kwocie 3 964 802,97 zł.
